A lesson learned
I recently read an article that made me think how we as people are very selfish individuals by nature. I think of myself as someone who tries to be nice to others and helpful, but it gave me a little bit of insight how people take things for granted, including our family and friends. I feel so very blessed to have the people in my life that I do, I am abudantly blessed by God each day. I am going to work very hard to give the gifts that God has given me to bless others. I have a challenge to everyone during this Holiday season...If you are anywhere and you think of something that you could do to help someone, with no hesitation do it. Whether its opening the door or grocery shopping for someone, cleaning a house or even taking a neighbors pet walking. Lets try to include this in our daily life...we never know how much one simple task can bless others. Lets not use people and love things....instead LETS LOVE PEOPLE AND USE THINGS! God has given each of us a gift that we all should use to glorify him.
Merry Christmas to all!
In his name,
Mechelle

A few pieces of artwork
I wanted to share a few piece of art work that I have done this last year. The watercolor is a piece I did of my sister, Angela. There is a print that I did of a 1957 Bel Air. I hope to take some recent pictures of artwork.

Football & Paul
We just got Paul's football pictures back. He is the biggest one on the team, as Casey calls him-"Big Slim"! He is a freshman at Victory and loves going there. He started his freshman year at New Hope but after much thought James & I decided that we wanted Paul in a better environment. He really has fit in like he's been going there all of his school years. Last Saturday Paul & I went by shopping in Tuscaloosa, that same day State was playing Bama-Roll Tide!!! He said, "Mama in about 5 or 6 years, you and Dad are going to come see me play, Right?" His dream is to go to college at University of Alabama & Play football there. I of course gave my motherly advice & told him to stay focused on his grades and work hard in everything he does! Anything is possible, look at me, 37 & a senior in college. Who knew?

Fall Fest & Enjoying Alexis
I'm a little late posting pics, but the life of a college student is often times hectic to say the least. Last Saturday, my church had their fall fest. I have not been in a long time, I'm so ashamed, I need to start back going to church. But Nanna & I took Alexis & met my friend Pam. Here are a few pictures of our fun day. Later that afternoon, the weather was so beautiful we took Alexis outside on a blanket. James had the most fun with her. He blew on her belly and she just laughed so hard. He has this thing where he goes tickles and giggles and she just breaks out into the biggest grin. It just makes you melt.

Fireproof
For those of you who have not seen fireproof, especially if you are married...I recommend you go see it. My father and I were in Tuscaloosa today and I suggested that we go...we both cried the whole time. Here I was on the way over there complaining about my husband's shortcomings and after watching the movie it made me feel differently. My poor hubby-I gotta love him! It really opened my eye's and I've been married for a mighty long time.
